CHEPSTOW'S Joel Wil-liams came away victorious from Cefn Forest on Friday night, after unanimously defeating Daniel Paul from Cwmcarn ABC on points in three rounds.
The all-action contest saw young Joel come out on top with more accurate jabs and crosses, forcing Daniel on the retreat for much of the bout. But Daniel rallied at the start of the third with a two-handed attack, only for the Chepstow lad to use footwork to good defence and counter with straight jabs to collect valuable points.
More tournaments are scheduled for the near future, while two new female recruits have made good progress towards match-standard.
