MARDY under-12s recently triumphed in adverse weather conditions against Caldicot A, with Ryan Probert netting three times.
With a strong cross wind and driving rain against them, Mardy were forced to compete doggedly both on the ground and in the air against a physically bigger Caldicot side. But Mike Schofield and Ben Woodward won control of the midfield and after a few minutes Woodward put Probert through for a clinical finish.
Jordan Dilley made probing runs down the right flank with Ryan Price looked dangerous on the left - and it was his shot which was spilled to allow Probert to pounce for a second. Aaron Marfell added the third from a Price corner, finishing well after a headed flick-on by Woodward.
Dilley added a fourth from close range, then Price himself made it five after a break from defence from Woodward.
Caldicot mustered a consolation goal after the break, with a swirling shot from range. But Probert completed his hat trick after breaking free on the left broke through on the left and scored from distance. Woodward wrapped things up with a deft chip over the keeper.
