THE redevelopment of Shirenewton Golf Club has been praised by a member of the county planning committee.
Cllr Philip Murphy said: "Everything about this development has been done superbly well and you notice it when you drive past."
He was commenting during discussions by the committee about an application from Beacon Estates to amend the layout and include a detached garage block to serve the 10 new homes.
Planning control officer David Swanson said the applicant was not increasing the parking or garaging facilities at the site, but combining the two parking areas already approved into one parking area for the same number of vehicles.
But the scheme brought objections from the local community council who complained that it further intrudes into the countryside.
The committee gave their approval for the change.
