Caldicot Castle A came from 1-0 down to clinch their fourth consecutive Shield victory after a penalty shoot -out against Sudbrook Cricket Club A. Chris Phillips put the Cricket Club ahead with a superb lob from 25 yards after eight minutes' play. Mark Cochrane equalised for the Castle with a fine drive on 25 minutes.

The game faded badly in the second half, with neither side really threatening each other's goal.

The game moved into extra time and both sides had chances to win the tie in each half of it.

In the penalty shoot-out, both teams were tied at three each after their five penalties.

In the first penalty of sudden death, Castle scored theirs, while the Cricket Club blasted theirs wide of the post.

Anthony Robbins and Simon Bryant lifted the Shield together for the Castle in the absence of their holidaying player-manager Malcolm Pow.
