NEW Inn bounced back from a disappointing defeat to PILCS with a good home win over Pontyminster.

Both teams played some good football in this seven-goal thriller, with the visitors starting well and going 2-0 up inside ten minutes.

Around the half hour mark, New Inn pulled one back when Wayne Jepson went up for a header in the box, only to be beaten to it by the defender who found the back of his own net.

But Pontymister soon raised the tempo and restored their two goal advantage with their right winger claiming his hat-trick.

Mark Jackson got New Inn's second on the stroke of half-time with a cool finish into the bottom corner.

And early in the second half, Jackson found the equaliser, sliding the ball under the oncoming 'keeper.

On the hour, the hosts bagged the winner. Nathan Blackwell lifted the ball over the defence for Darryl Richards, who beat the offside trap and whipped a delightful ball into the area for veteran Wayne Wright to head in. Pontyminster had a great chance to draw level when New Inn were reduced to ten men; Tom Morgan shown a second yellow after handballing in the area. But the resulting penalty was curled wide.
