Newport-based law firm Harding Evans Solicitors has been named ‘best in Wales’ for the quality of its conveyancing work in the biggest award scheme for the UK residential property industry.

The firm took gold for ‘Best in Region’ at the prestigious ESTAS awards in London and also scooped Best in County, making it the only firm in Wales to take two awards home.

The award was announced by Phil Spencer, the TV property expert at a high-profile ceremony at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane London, attended by 300 of the UK’s top conveyancing firms.

The ESTAS Awards determine the best property professionals in the UK based purely on feedback from clients who are asked a series of questions about the service they have received from their firm. More than 40,000 surveys have been completed during 2017.

Phil Spencer, who has hosted The ESTAS every year since their inception in 2003, said: “This conveyancing industry doesn’t get enough credit for the work it does in helping millions of customers around the UK and making their dreams come true and at The ESTAS we want to highlight that fact.”

Firms were recognised in 10 regions and nations around the UK. National Grand Prix Awards were also announced for the Best Single Office.

Simon Brown, founder of The ESTAS, said: “We live in a world where the consumer decision making process is influenced more and more by customer reviews so The ESTAS provides a kitemark of excellent service for any property professional.”

Wyn Williams, partner and head of conveyancing at Harding Evans, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been recognised at this year’s ESTAS. It means so much to myself and team. We are incredibly passionate about the level of service we deliver to clients and for us to win an award based on our client’s feedback alone goes to show how committed we are to delivering on what we promise.”
