PLANS to build a new learning centre at Coleg Gwent’s campus in Usk have been submitted to Monmouthshire County Council.
The building proposed in the application is set over 600 square metres and will include office space, study areas and formal teaching spaces on two floors.
It will replace the current learning centre which was displaced after the building block was converted into the campus refectory. The centre would also be constructed on an existing carpark, but the application outlines plans to reconfigure the remaining area of the site to “maximise parking potential”.
A new carpark would be constructed on the lower grassed part of the site and would include two additional spaces to the existing 32.
The design suggested by Coleg Gwent would fit with current building designs found in the campus, including the county council offices at County Hall.
