A CWMBRAN man made a young woman’s life 'a living hell' after he posted naked images of her aged just 15 on the internet.

Tomos Marsh, of Twmbarlwm Rise, Henllys, created a Facebook page using the victim’s nickname and posted 11 indecent images of her.

He also uploaded the pictures to two porn websites and a dating site.

25-year-old Marsh appeared at Cardiff Crown Court today and was given a three month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.

He had pleaded guilty to one count of distributing Category C images.

The victim, who was as young as 15 in some of the photos Marsh posted, first heard of the published images after someone told her.

Between 2008 and 2014 Marsh had uploaded the images to social media, dating sites and two porn sites.

One image had been viewed nearly 700 times.

Police traced the Facebook account to Marsh’s home address and arrested him in May last year after his phone, laptop and memory stick were seized.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: “When the images were first discovered I was in severe shock and devastated. I felt in disgust.

“Since 2009 various strangers have approached me face to face and said degrading things to me in Newport, I have never felt so vulnerable. This was only because photos of me were plastered all over the internet.

“These photos are private. My life has been made a living hell. I was only 15 years old in some of these photos. The thought of strangers looking at these photos is disgusting.

“When I was contacted I was numb. So many of my respected peers could see me in this way and I felt humiliated.”

Judge Daniel Williams told Marsh: “You were in your 20s when you distributed images of a 15-year-old girl.

“Your intention was to humiliate her, to expose her to the sort of vile attention which she has been.”

As well as a suspended sentence, Marsh was ordered to undertake a thinking skills programme and 250 hours of unpaid community work.

Simon Goodman, defending Marsh, said of the images: “Once they are out there, they are out there.”
