What a special occasion Saturday was.
With everything coming together off the field with the new direction, renovations and a growing crowd up on the bank - The match day feeling was one of real passion and professionalism.
A big thanks to everyone who has been involved in this rejuvenation.
On the field, it is safe to say that we made slightly harder work of Saturday than we ought to have.
Take nothing away from Bridgend Athletic, I'm sure they will have a fine season, but we are now a squad that is really striving to compete with the top teams.
Although we started the first half very well, we went into our shells for the rest of the first period after conceding a long range "hack through" try.
Arguably the most exciting thing to emerge from Saturday was the hunger and spirit the boys showed to pull it back in the second half, to a man there was a sense of urgency that put Bridgend under really sustained pressure.
This is what we will likely focus on this week. Essentially it will be about sticking to our strengths and having belief in our abilities even when the opposition are on the front foot.
Looking forward to this week’s game - we won’t be taking Llanharan lightly.
The honours were even in our two fixtures last year and we are all are desperate to continue the run we are on.
As such, I am sure Saturday’s game will be a closely fought and exciting encounter.
