  • East takes on west in the regional RaboDirect Pro12 double-header in the capital.
  • Last year the Scarlets and Ospreys were triumphant and both are favourites to take the spoils again.
  • The Scarlets are hunting a win that will put them closer to securing the final qualification spot for next year's Rugby Champions Cup.
  • The Ospreys need five points to keep the heat on Glasgow and Ulster in the battle for the playoffs.
  • The Dragons are looking to end a run of five games without a victory that has seen them slide to 10th in the table.
  • The resurgent Blues bid for a hat-trick of wins following their successes against Ulster and Edinburgh.

Final play and Ardron knocks on over the line thanks to Harries' desperate tackle. Dragons 10 Ospreys 20. Report coming soon...

All over. Penalty try after the Dragons are shunted back. 20-10 in the closing stages...

Duncan Bell is blowing and the Ospreys destroy the Dragons' scrum for a penalty that Biggar strikes beautifully. 13-10 with 10 to go.

It's Prydie who slots over the leveller. 10-10.

Spratt slaps down a ball and is yellow-carded. Burton to have a shot at goal...

Ospreys hit the front. Habberfield snipes over from close range. Biggar converts and it's 10-7 just past the hour.

Biggar slots over a penalty - 7-3 after 54 mins.

Attendance: 30, 411

Cudd is sent to the sin bin for tackling Biggar off the ball. Gives the Ospreys a sniff.

Do we have an upset on our hands? Early yet mind!

DRAGONS IN FRONT! Richie Rees goes over after Amos, Morgan and Hill combine. Cracking try and the extras make it 7-0.

Biggar gets us back under way.

Half time: 0-0. It's actually been intruiging! The Os need a BP win but are up against it now.

Aaaargh! Toby goes on a surge down the right but the Os snuff out the attack as Morgan scented a try.

Ryan Jones yellow carded for killing the ball, the Dragons kick the pen to the corner but the Ospreys stand firm.

Talei off, Cudd on. The big Fijian, who hadn't made the best of starts, helped off after injuring his left leg when carrying.

The Ospreys - who need a BP win in their bid for the playoffs - kick a penalty to the corner rather than to the sticks... but the throw isn't straight.

Ospreys 8 Dan Baker drops the ball going for the line. Yet another escape for the under the pump Dragons.

It's all Ospreys so far. Still 0-0 though.

Fussell try chalked off after Habberfield knocks on in the build-up. Ominous start, mind.

Nearly a dream start for the Dragons, Prydie intercepts but Spratt stops him going under the sticks. Burton is then wide with a snap drop goal.

Huge blow for the Dragons losing Coombs. Could have done with his bite in the tight five.

Leach's withdrawal is also a blow... but it's great to see Tyler Morgan, 18, given a Pro12 debut. He has been superb for Newport in the Premiership and has the skills to be a real threat today.

Dragons: H Amos, T Prydie, T Morgan, J Dixon, W Harries, K Burton, R Rees, P Price, R Thomas, D Bell, M Screech, C Hill, N Talei, L Evans (captain), T Faletau. Replacements: S Parry, O Evans, B Douglas, C Hill, N Cudd, J Evans, J Tovey, T Morgan.

Ospreys: R Fussell, J Hassler, J Spratt, A Beck, H Dirksen, D Biggar, T Habberfield, D Jones, S Baldwin, A Jarvis, R Jones, A W Jones (captain), J King, J Tipuric, D Baker. Replacements: S Otten, N Smith, A Jones, T Ardon, S Lewis, T Tebaldi, S Davies, A Natoga.

Couple of changes for the Dragons. They're without captain Andrew Coombs and centre Pat Leach, Cory Hill and 18-year-old Tyler Morgan start.

All over. Blues win 17-13. Now on to the main event...

It's up for grabs with five left thanks to Ken Owens' try... 14-13 to the Blues but Davies is about to have a shot at goal.

Double reds. Robin Copeland stamps on Liam Williams' head - sent off. Liam Williams was slowing the ball down - second yellow.

Priestland knocks over a penalty and it's 14-8 at the break. The Scarlets will probably take that because they have been awful.

Approaching half-time and it's 14-5 to the Blues. Another Davies penalty responds to a Priestland try (and the Wales fly-half missed the conversion from in front of the sticks, appalling).

A quarter gone and it's 11-0 to the Blues thanks to a brace of penalties by Gareth Davies. The Scarlets have been dire.

Scarlets down to 14 for 10 minutes after Liam Williams clobbers Cuthbert in the air. Lucky to see yellow rather than red? I'd say so.

Early score for the Blues, Cuthbert sneaking over down the left. 5-0 after 5.

If the Scarlets beat the Blues then the Dragons would go up to seventh with an unlikely win against the Ospreys.

Blues: Fish, Cuthbert, Allen, Hewitt, Czekaj, G Davies, L Jones, Jenkins (captain), Rees, Filise, B Davies, Paulo, Cook, Navidi, Copeland. Reps: R Williams, T Davies, Andrews, Dicomidis, Jenkins, L Williams, Humberstone, Robinson.

Scarlets: L Williams, Phillips, J Davies (captain), Maule, J Williams, D Gavies, John, Owens, Lee, Ball, Earle, Shingler, Barclay, Turnbull. Reps: Myhill, R Evans, R Jones, Snyman, Timani, R Williams, S Shingler, Climo.

It's a horrid day out there but the roof is shut.

Blues and Scarlets first up in just over half an hour and the Dragons could do with a west Wales win to keep the Cardiff boys within reach.
