STAFF and members of Wye Gymnastics and Cheerleading Club are celebrating after winning a prestigious UK award for the club’s diverse activities in 2022.
Apart from the gymnastic and cheerleading activities, the club has been running a food bank at the gym and have devised a number of initiatives to help low-income families as well as promote British Gymnastics Federation’s Love to Move scheme to introduce to the sport.
The club’s CEO Carly Hawke was delighted when the award was announced.
“During the pandemic and ever since, the awards have been announced online so we don’t know if there will be any trophy or shield to go with the award,” she said.
“But we are all very proud to have won this UK-wide award.”
