TEAM GB women cruised to a 3-0 win over Cameroon in their second match at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium to seal their place in the Olympic football quarter-finals

They now move on to play Brazil at Wembley on Tuesday but are guaranteed a place in the last eight with two wins from two games.

The opening goal was a scrappy affair as a free-kick by Karen Carney from the left flank was missed by everyone apart from captain Casey Stoney, who tapped in at the far post.

But the second was a work of art as Kelly Smith opened up the Cameroon defence with a neat through ball to Kim Little and the Scot cleverly back-heeled inside for Jill Scott to slot home.

Little almost added a third goal five minutes before the break but she was denied by Cameroon goalkeeper Annette Ngo Ndom having been put through by Kelly Smith.

And Little then saw her header pushed onto the post as Britain threatened to run riot.

Anita Asante had an effort headed off the line by her opposite number Bibi Medoua shortly after the break and then had to be substituted after taking a boot in the face.

Ifeoma Dieke was also forced off with a nasty looking knee injury and replaced by Sophie Bradley.

Star performer Little again went close 10 minutes from the end as her vicious drive was parried by Ngo Ndom and just avoided Eniola Aluko.

But the third goal finally came a minute later as Little teed up Steph Houghton on the edge of the box and the goal hero against New Zealand got her second of the tournament with a right-foot thunderbolt.
