NEWPORT County AFC have received a major boost ahead of this weekend's FA Cup clash with Leicester City with the news that striker Padraig Amond has triggered a clause in his contract to extend his deal with the Exiles until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
The Irish front man has scored 29 goals in 83 games since moving to Rodney Parade from Hartlepool United in August 2017.
Manager Michael Flynn said: "It is great for the football club that Podge has extended his deal.
"Not only is he one of the best strikers in the League, but he is also a top professional and I am so glad he is one of ours for another season."
