FROM pulling pints to pouring tea - one Chepstow man is enjoying a new business venture with the opening of his new vintage tea and coffee shop.
Tiffin vintage tea and coffee house, on St Mary Street, Chepstow is owned by Nic Meyrick and was officially opened by Chepstow town councillors Peter Farley and Hilary Beach on Monday.
Mr Meyrick, who has worked at his father’s pub The Coach and Horses Inn on Welsh Street for the past 16 years, said his career has changed slightly.
He said: “Rather than pulling pints, I’m pouring tea.”
And he said the opening day had been better than he had hoped, despite poor weather, at the shop in what he said was in the “economic heart of Chepstow”.
Mr Meyrick said: “It’s been really, really good, super duper. We have been turning people away. It has been really good - and the weather’s been dreadful."
The shop underwent a complete refit in the last fortnight ready for the opening and serves soups, homemade pain au chocolate, toasties and scones, among other things.
The Argus reported how Mr Meyrick's father, Ian, will be leaving The Coach and Horses later this month to retire with his wife Sheila in Cobham in Surrey.
