OVER 250 attended the Blessing of the crib and Christmas light switch in Blaenavon.
Rev Jason Bray welcomed the crowd before readings and prayers were read out and local children preformed the birth of Jesus alongside a real donkey.
Everyone joined in carol singing of Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Away in a Manger and O Come all ye Faithful.
There was also a pop up market held in Broad Street made up of local traders that proved a hit with the locals.
Blaenavon Mayor cllr Sylvia Lewis called the event a “success”.
She said: “There was something for all ages and it was a lovely evening.
“All of the elements of the evening proved really popular and is something we hope to continue next year.”
Blaenavon resident, Adrian Smith agreed adding that traders in the town benefited from the event with some saying that they would like to see more of the same in the coming years.
