Norman ‘conquerors’ paraded the streets of Chepstow at the weekend as part of the town’s 950th anniversary celebrations.
An actor playing Norman William FitzOsbern led a procession of ‘soldiers’ from the High Street to Chepstow Castle.
William FitzOsbern was William the Conqueror’s best friend and closest ally in his invasion of England.
Demonstrations took place in front of the castle along with a Norman fair. There was music from The Singing Club and traditional folk tunes from the South Monmouthshire Celtic folk band.
