THE lead sponsor of the Mic Morris Torfaen 10k has wished all the participants good luck ahead of the road race on Sunday, September 17.

The Mic Morris 10k takes participants on a downhill run from Blaenavon into Pontypool and is held every year to support the Mic Morris Memorial Sporting Trust Fund.

Mic Morris was a police officer and British international middle distance runner from Pontypool who died aged just 24 during a training run in 1983.

It is the first year that Hathway’s Estate Agents, which has offices in Cwmbran and Caerleon, has sponsored the event.

Philip Hathway of Hathway’s Estate Agents said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring such a fantastic event which raises money for a really worthwhile cause here in Torfaen.

“Good luck to everyone taking part – I hope there are lots of people celebrating their personal bests on Sunday morning.”

Cwmavon Road will be closed between 9am and 10.30am for the seventh running of the road race, which will see 1,000 athlete take part in the charity event .
