POSTIES in Blaenavon and Griffithstown have been raising smiles and cash for charity by dressing up as different characters.
Leigh-Anne Brown, pictured, was one of the Blaenavon and Griffithstown posties delivering mail in fancy dress for four Fridays as a way of cheering everyone up and raising money for some local charities.

Manager Graham Wilkes (who oversees work in the NP4 area) had the idea and thanked the public for their support and donations.
The four charities chosen are: Noddfa Church, Abersychan, Guide Dogs for the Blind, St John’s Ambulance and Mind. In three weeks £2,000 has already been raised
One resident said: "Our lovely Post Lady brought a smile to our faces on May 29 when delivering a parcel. As I went to answer the door bell I could see “Pocahontas” waiting by our front gate in the beautiful sunshine."
