A TEAM of Gwent Police crash investigators was called to a residential street in Abergavenny yesterday afternoon following what was described as a “traumatic” incident.
A section of Grosvenor Road was cordoned off by the emergency services, and a Wales Air Ambulance helicopter was also called in, landing in the town’s Bailey Park.

Several ambulances and police vehicles were also present in the residential area, and a spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service told the Argus it had responded to reports of a “traumatic” incident.
Later, a collision investigation unit arrived at the scene.
Eyewitnesses said the air ambulance departed without carrying any patients, and the emergency services had cleared the scene by 4.30pm.
Gwent Police was contacted for an official statement on the incident.
