STRIKES caused by a pay dispute between bus firm Stagecoach and striking union members may end next week.
Drivers at depots in Blackwood, Brynmawr and Cwmbran have been taking strike action over the last three weeks, demanding better pay through their union Unite.
According to Unite there have "productive discussions" with ACAS and Stagecoach Wales today (November 12, 2021) with a new offer.
A Unite spokesman said: “Following productive discussions with ACAS and Stagecoach Wales today [November 12], our members will be balloted on a new offer that meets many of their expectations.
“The ballot will open on Monday [November 15] and a result is expected on Tuesday [November 16].”
Although union members have not yet made a decision there will be one made next week, as outlined by the union.
A Stagecoach spokesman added: "We are pleased to have had constructive discussions with Unite today [November 12] and have reached a deal that Unite will put forward to their members to vote on next week.
“We remain 100 per cent committed to reaching an agreement with Unite.
“Normal timetables will be from November 13.”
A ballot result, based on the new offer, is expected on November 13. If accepted the strike action, in relation to this dispute, will end.
