THE Abergavenny under 15s rugby team has triumphed yet again in the Gwent District cup final, giving them six successive district cup final wins.
They beat New Panteg 17 - 10 in the final last week at Caerleon, skippered by Joe Evans who has led the team for three seasons. The team will now play the winners of the Caerphilly District Cup at Rodney Parade in Newport in May.
The same team is also through to the Dragons Super Cup final and will play either Ystrad Mynach or Blackwood. The team has been unbeaten all season apart from a very narrow defeat by a visiting Bournemouth side.
A busy week lies ahead for the youngsters who travelled to London Irish at the weekend to compete in the European championship, playing against the cream of Europe, including the English, Irish and French champions.
This Friday they will travel to Dublin on tour, returning three days later after a hectic schedule of games.
The Abergavenny Rugby Club juniors all train on Thursdays nights, contact secretary Rob Flower on 01873 859605 if you are interested.
