TORFAEN teams endured mixed results in Welsh League Division Two on Saturday.

Cwmbran Celtic, defending a record of only one defeat in nine outings since their delayed start to the campaign, hosted Aberbargoed Buds on the day.

The visitors played the better football more or less throughout as Celtic struggled to get into any sort of rhythm at their Celtic Park HQ.

Nonetheless a point from a 1-1 draw when you've underperformed is not to be sniffed at and substitute Sean Feeley's 87th-minute effort maintained his side's tenth place in the 16-strong table.

Aberbargoed boss Adrian Needs will feel his team should have had matters wrapped up long before Feeley's late leveller - although it must be pointed out he was minus several key players.

Striker Tom McCarthy, who has netted 13 times this season, was unavailable while influential midfielder Wayne Antoniazzi and impressive defender Keiron Thomas were also sidelined.

However they put those losses firmly behind them and went onto take lead just three minutes before interval, when Scott Armitage's low cross was turned past home goalkeeper Giles Cutlan by Jordan Maisey.

Poor passing the main feature and just when it appeared the visitors had clinched victory, Owen Llewellyn's cross was side-footed home by Feeley to save the day.

Croesyceiliog meanwhile hit seven in a thrashing of Vale of Glamorgan side Dinas Powys.

Croesyceiliog striker Zac Osbourne netted a brace in the 7-1 win, to take his tally to 16 for the season.

However he was upstaged by team-mate Hishi Lama, who smashed in a hat-trick with Croesyceiliog's other goals coming from Jamie Arnold and Dan Clouth.
