BAD weather played havoc with the start of the league season with Chepstow CC 1st XI’s home match against Blackwood surviving for only seven overs.
By then, Chepstow were 29 for 0 with openers David Teague on 16 and Gareth Ansell on six.
The club’s 2nd XI’s match at Blackwood was also abandoned.
At Mill Lane, Caldicot, Sudbrook CC’s Seconds posted 238-6 from their 45 overs with Bradley Bates top-scoring with 71 and Greg Shaw adding 51 against Radyr.
The visitors tumbled to 233 all out with Gary Morgan (3-40) and Jamie Watkins (2-37), the pick of the bowlers.
The Firsts’ match at Radyr was cancelled.
