DAN Hines hammered five goals as Thornwell Red & White A issued a warning to their title race rivals, writes Bob Cypher.
An all-round display of clinical and relentless scoring saw the Red & Whites hit the net every six minutes on average, putting Caldicot Town to the sword in a 16-0 rout.
Although Hines grabbed the scoring honours, the other 11 were shared between eight of his teammates - Wayne Duffield 2, Ben Corbett 2, Robert Wood 2, Jimmy Boulter, Joe Kuczynski, Tudor Morgan-Huggett, Jordan Doyle (pen) and Tobias Prettyjohns.
The victory - and winning margin - did wonders for Thornwell’s goal difference but they are still fourth in the table, although they have games in hand on all but second-placed Caldicot Castle, whose GD is one goal better.
