SEVERN Tunnel warmed up for next week’s cup clash with Caldicot Castle A with a 5-3 victory over Portskewett & Sudbrook at Rogiet, writes Bob Cypher.

Tunnel are second, three points behind Iscoed Tafarn, who were without a game.

Sudbrook CC A beat Rockfield Rovers 3-1 at Mill Lane and Thornwell Red & White enjoyed a 6-0 home victory over Monmouth Town who, like other reserve sides, are finding it difficult to field a settled and consistent team.

In Division 2, leaders Caldicot Town beat Caldicot Castle B 6-0 while second-placed Tintern Abbey’s match at home to Thornwell R&W B was postponed.

Chepstow Town won 6-3 at local rivals Chepstow Athletic and Raglan won 5-0 at Port & Sud B.

Iscoed Tafarn will hope to repeat last month’s 4-1 league victory when they entertain cup holders Monmouth Town, while Chepstow Athletic welcome Chepstow Town to Mathern Road for the second time in seven days and will be keen to reverse their 6-3 defeat.

Rockfield Rovers should prove too strong for visitors Thornwell R&W B and Port & Sud A take on Undy Athletic at the Rec.

Caldicot Town welcome Sudbrook A with Sudbrook CC B taking on Port & Sud B at Mill Lane.

All ties are scheduled to start at 1.45pm with extra time and penalties available to decide the winners.
