A POPULAR gymnastics and cheerleading club has had a boost to its plans for a community cafe.
And if all goes well this Saturday, they may have something even more prestigious to the club.
Wye Gymnastics’ CEO Carly Hawke has written to supporters who contributed to a Crowdfunding appeal to finance the project which involved converting a donated portable cabin.
“We have had some very exciting news regarding The Coffee Beam Project,” she wrote.
“We are very happy to announce that we have now secured the rest of the funding required to fully complete this project.
“The Welsh Government has funded the remaining balance via the Community Facilities Programme and we are very much looking forward to delivering our vision of creating this amazing coffee lounge.”
One of the club’s gymnasts, 14-year old Dylan Smallcombe, who has already represented Wales and lives in Sudbrook, has been short-listed for Welsh Gymnastics’ Emerging Talent of the Year award with the final decision being announced at the Welsh Gymnastics annual awards this Saturday.

“We are so pleased. This is a fantastic achievement and we wish Dylan the very best of luck,” she added.
